Oh, my my! That is exactly what I thought when I finished the unusual, interesting and overall great new book by author M.L. Sanford, Travel the Wicked Road. In an absolute rout of a paranormal adventure, readers will follow the inhabitants of the strange little town of New Gamore, a place that doesn’t exactly have the best of histories, as they deal with a number of unexplained events. Soon to be retired Sheriff Bud Bustovf and social misfit Eaton Prescott lead the cast of characters, but there are certainly more unique individuals that round out this story line. Underlying all that’s going on, from missing people, unexplained deaths and secrets galore, there runs a vein of something mysterious, definitely something most people are not aware of, and certainly something wicked.
Travel the Wicked Road was an absolutely awesome read! I picked it up late one evening, intending to read just a few pages, maybe a few chapters. Instead, I found myself obsessively turning the pages until I reached the end. Author M.L. Sanford has done a great job in creating a story that is simply mesmerizing, and once you get into it, you will simply need to keep going in order to find out what happens. Any reader who enjoys a good work of paranormal fiction will simply love this read, and I am thrilled to highly recommend Travel the Wicked Road to them. Author M.L. Sanford has a creative and inventive mind, and I can’t wait to see what kind of story he will have for his readers next!
Eaton Prescott’s young life, and path, was so far—well, in his words ‘lacking in everything that one could possible desire, or achieve’. Love, money, self-esteem, good looks, outgoing personality . . . well the list could go on and on. Little did he know that his path, the one that he would just as soon throw away and start over, was about to cross with a few other important ones—and something else. The ‘something else’, something wicked, he could do without, but then, do we have much choice on what road we take, which path we travel, or collide with?
Sheriff Bud Bustovf’s life, and path, was about to tumble into retirement, and in his mind, retiring only meant ‘sinking into uselessness, no longer of value to the citizens of New Gamore’. Little did he know, retirement was going to be anything but boring and quiet, his path too, about to cross many others, all unexpected, all life changing for him, and them. His new road, the one forced on him, uncovers buried secrets, missing people that turned into unexplained deaths, and new ones, deaths that is, all testing his grasp on reality, and his long held understanding of the family history, not to mention, his little town’s death and rebirth.
These are just a few of the odd and interesting characters introduced in the supernatural, suspense and mystery thriller, Travel the Wicked Road, by author M. L. Sanford. Oh, and don’t forget the little town of Gamore, its horrific end and curious reincarnation as New Gamore. Their paths cross, and twist, in a most unnatural way, the road leading to one of them fraught with that wicked something that many, including Eaton Prescott and Sheriff Bud Bustovf, would do anything to avoid—if only they knew.
